Having come out the other side of a large merger and with their first ever Head of L&D in post, we spoke to a large communications organisation about putting together a modular programme for their functional heads. An incredibly capable bunch who had almost fallen into people leadership but without the cushion of any real developmental support, our client recognised the need for something more structured and formal but was concerned that it would not be viewed as commercial by the business and would therefore struggle to get off the ground.
How we helped
Working in a co-design capacity with the client himself, we sketched out, designed and then delivered a modular leadership development programme that covered the four pillars of leading self, leading teams, leading individuals and crucially, leading commercially. But it didn't stop there. Participants were put into project teams to identify and then propose a solution to a recognised business problem. These ideas were pitched to the UK CEO and are all now in different stages of development and implementation. Seen as making genuine business impact, the programme is being repeated in 2012.
